Pumpkin Carving

We started carving pumpkins with my sister and then finished for FHE. The kids loved gutting the pumpkins and picking out their faces.

Megan hand drew her face. She HAD TO have eye lashes and we were a little worried if you would even be able to see them, but I think that they turned out pretty good.

Last but not Least

At the end of our long list of visitors this month my sister, Jess, and her family came out to visit. We had a lot of fun hanging out and doing fun things around town. It always seems like when they come to visit somebody goes to the doctor. This year it was Steve (Jess' husband). He was walking across the dark basement when he tripped on a toy and then landed on another toy giving himself a pretty good gash in his foot. We traced the blood trail (by flashlight, since the kids were sleeping) but couldn't figure out what toy he cut himself on. So to say the least, this wasn't Steve's best trip out here. He left with 5 stitches and crutches. We did enjoy seeing everyone and being able to see family. It made Megan's fall break go by a lot faster and more enjoyable. Thanks for coming out guys, can't wait to see you soon!

Once Again

Another favorite is going to the zoo with our visitors. It's also my sister's favorite place to go. This time we lucked out with being able to feed the giraffes again. It's always fun to try something new. It's also great to go right now since the animals are not just laying around, they are up and walking around more making it more entertaining.

I also wanted to say how super cute Megan's hair looked this day. My sister did Megan's hair so cute, Thanks Jess!!

Out on the Farm

One of the funnest things to do when we have visitors is take them to the farm. Even though we had just gone we didn't mind going again for another adventure. This time the temperatures were warm and it wasn't over crowded. We had a fun time playing around, picking pumpkins and apples. It's always fun to be on the farm.

You Know You Are Old When...

On your birthday...

You aren't exempt from cleaning the house.

You still have to do the grocery shopping, and the laundry

Your Mom has to mail you a birthday sign a month in advance to make sure you have it for your birthday, instead of putting it up while you sleep in.

& your kids still have to sit in time out like any other day.

But you know you have a great husband when he gets you everything you ask for on your birthday...

Yummy BJ's Parmesan crusted chicken. Order to go to eat in the comfort of our own home, and not have to worry about how the kids acted.

Cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory to eat after the kids were in bed. (Thrown on the table by Bryson to ruin the presentation, but it still tasted amazing!)

And as a bonus he brought home a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me.

I had a great birthday thanks to everyone! Oh, and I just had to add how cute Megan was. I was feeding Connor in the morning and Megan came in and said to me "Mom, it's a surprise, but I'm going to make you eggs and toast for breakfast." I thought that it was really cute. Then after dinner she decided to make me a birthday crown that read "Mommy Kelly Birday 27." She then decided to make one for everyone. So we all wore our hats the rest of the night. I have great kids.

Connor's Blessing

Dear Connor,

You were blessed by your Father on October 18th in our ward with Grandpa Kelly, Uncle Jacob, & other members of the ward. You looked so handsome in your outfit.

Some of the things that were said in the blessing were:
That you would be a positive influence and a good example to everyone around you.

That you will have strength and knowledge in the gospel, and that you will go to your Heavenly Father in prayer.

And that you will receive the priesthood to help others, and that you will go to the temple and receive the blessings of the temple and serve a mission.
Dad said that you kept arching your back while you were being blessed, making it a little hard to hold you, but you were quite and didn't cry.

We loved that we had family here to bless you and to take part of this special day. We love having you in our family and are so grateful that you chose us to be your parents. We love you!

Apple Picking

We all headed up to the farm to pick some apples. It was FREEZING cold when we went (notice the hats, gloves and coats) but we were excited to go and show Grandpa Kelly & Jacob & Julia's family the farm that we go to. Since it was so cold I thought that we would have the whole farm to ourselves. Boy was I wrong, it was the most crowded we have ever seen it. So we will have to go again with them when it isn't so crowded to show them a better time at the farm, instead of dodging people and counting kids' heads.

Even though it was crowded we still had fun and got some cute pictures.

Grandpa would help the kids get apples at the top of the trees, and Grandma would examine all the apples to make sure that we left with the best apples. The next day we had a yummy apple crisp from the apples that we picked!

First Halloween Party

We love going to the zoo for their Hallween party, and it was even funner this year since we got to go with Grandma & Grandpa, & Jacob, Julia, Loraya, Isaac & Macey. So we dressed all the kids up... The Cowboy, Clown, Snow White, Witch & Spiderman!

It was a little chilly, but still a lot of fun!

Special Lunch

On Friday we were all able to go eat lunch with Megan at school, for a special lunch with parents and grandparents, we were excited that Grandma & Grandpa Kelly were here to join us for this special lunch time. So we bought her a happy meal and spent lunch with her. It was a lot of fun to eat with her. We love our Megan and are so proud of how good she does at school.

Oh Deer!

Grandma & Grandpa Kelly came for a visit and within the first couple of days we cut down a couple of trees

Since Grandpa shot a deer, Josh and his Dad put some electrical outlets in the basement (without any problems) so that we can put a freezer in the basement to store all the extra meat we are going to have. Now I get to figure out some yummy recipes to cook venison. Have any?
