Fishing Derby

We were so excited that we were able to go to the annual fishing derby in our city. We had gone a few years back and we never knew when it was held. We were so excited that we found it and were able to attend. The kids had so much fun. Here are a few pictures from our experience...

The Bait
The Fishing
The Fish

Megan caught 3 fish. We had a lot of action with a lot of nibbling and worm stealing, but Josh was convinced that our hooks must of been too big cause once we switched to one of the loner poles with a smaller hook Megan caught 3 fish one right after the other. Then the hook got stuck in a fish and we didn't catch anything since. Bryson wasn't lucky to catch anything, but luckily was a good sport.
After the fishing time was up they had an award ceremony and awarded every kid a trophy and had awards for biggest fish caught and most fish caught. Our kids didn't win either, but were very excited about the trophy and bag of goodies that they received.

There were a lot of videos of us reeling in half eaten worms, this one is after Megan caught her 2nd fish and actually touched it. She didn't want to touch it but after it jumped off her hook she had to pick it up. Then she decided to share it with Connor too.

We had a great time and look forward to going next year when Connor can fish!

I loved going to that one year with your family. I still wear my Fishing Derby T-Shirt for my morning walks! Looks like the kids are getting better and better at fishing now. Any turtles this year???
