A Day with Horses

On my parent's last day with us we decided to go on a new adventure and go to the Horse Capital of the World, and visit the Horse Park, which we have never been to. (and let the kids skip school) We had free coupons (bonus!) for the kids (well Megan, since the boys were free) to enjoy a day at the Horse Park, with my parents, Josh's Mom and the kids.  It was so pretty out there and there were plenty of horses to see.  There were horse museums that were very interactive and the kids enjoyed them.  We didn't get the chance to read everything, but it was pretty cool.  We liked watching a video of kids doing gymnastics on top of a horse while it is moving.  (I forget what it is called)

We went to a couple of different horse shows.  This one told you about each different breed and what they were used for, and after the show they let you go up and pet the horses.

All the horses are very tame and very nice.  I didn't know that there were so many different breeds of horses.  There is one type of horse (which it's killing me that I don't remember the breed) that I would love to have.  When you ride it you glide along cause the horse takes quick steps and has little feet.  There is no bouncing.

We watched another show of breeder horses that ran in races.  They would show the races that the horse would race and then bring the horse out.  We even had one horse poop for us, which Connor thought was funny.  After the show I asked him if he liked it and he just laughed and said "horse pooped".

It was just beautiful there and so nice to walk around and pet different kinds of horses.  Connor was in heaven.  We ended our trip with a quick lunch and then we were off to the airport to drop Grandma & Grandpa Nordgren off.

We enjoyed our time with my parents and Josh's parents.  We always wish that we could have more time with them.  It always seems too long inbetween visits.
