The Birth-day

Megan came home from school decked out in her birthday crown and smiling from ear to ear. She had many people singing "Happy Birthday" to her, and she loved every minute of it.

Once Josh came home from work we headed out to Burger King (Megan's choice of fast food restaurant), then we took her down to our surprise for her...

Build-A-Bear
We thought that this would be the best present for her and what a special thing to build her very own unique stuffed animal. Unfortunately it didn't go as I had planned in my mind. Once we got there there was a very cute stuffed dog all decked out with roller skates, Megan loved it. We took the tour of the store and Megan went back and said that she just wanted THAT dog. We had to keep explaining to her that she gets to MAKE her own animal. The only down side was that if she actually made THAT dog it would have cost $75 or more, which is WAY over our birthday budget. So after a lot of persuading, arguing and even a break down (from Megan, but mine was coming close behind) we finally got going on the process. She picked out her animal...

a pink bear, they stuffed it...

then put the heart inside, after everyone gave it a kiss and she made a wish. (Josh and I joked that she wished that she could have the dog on skates)

She then gave her bear her first bath, cleaning her of all her extra fluff.
She then picked out clothes to put on her bear. They really have everything that you can think of to put on your animal. This part took a lot of help since there are so many choices and so many different prices.

Next was the dressing station where she put her clothes on her bear, and of course the roller skates that she HAD TO HAVE.
After dressing her she got to sit down and give her a name and they printed out a birth certificate. She named her bear Claralina (clair-a-leen-a).

Bryson also wanted to take an animal home, but we had to keep telling him that the animals live there and that he couldn't take them home, and that maybe for his birthday we could come back. (keyword, maybe) But he did bathe a few animals while Megan went through her process.
And here is the finished product. A very cute bear and a very happy birthday girl. We even got a big hug saying that we were the best Mom and Dad in the whole world. That made it all worth it.
Since we got home so late we ended up having cake and ice cream and opening cards the following day. Megan loved every minute of her birthday, the attention, the gifts and of course turning 6!

You ARE the best parents in the whole wide world if you survived Build a Bear with three kids. What a fun photo documentation of the trip too. Love it!

Happy Birthday Megan! Good job mom with the birthday party. I understand what you mean about inviting more people than you planned. We did that with both girls parties this year. We were going to invite 8 to Brinley's, which turned into 10, luckily 4 didn't come, but the people who did come brought their siblings, and there were around 15 kids when all was said and done. We tried to learn from that with Maddie's party, but still ended up with 13 kids. Still fun, just total chaos. Anyways. I like the build a bear idea. We might do that for birthdays next year.

Happy Birthday Megan! We all love you so much! We wish we could be there with you to celebrate your birthday. It seems like yesterday I was able to see you come into this world. You are still as loved and beautiful as when you joined our family. Kylie LOVES your bear and the roller skates. We might have to borrow that idea for her birthday. So fun! WE LOVE YOU MEGAN!!!
