Go Bats!

We all attended our first baseball game thanks to Mortenson Family Dental! We went to root on the Louisville Bats, but it was a VERY hot and humid evening. We had a couple of foul balls come our way, 2 rows ahead of us caught one. Megan did get one of the squishy baseballs that they threw up in the stands, thanks to a gentleman who was sitting in front of us that gave it to her. We only made it till the end of the 8th inning before we couldn't take anymore, plus the kids were getting pretty tired. Unfortunately the Bats ended up losing to the Columbus Clippers 12 -9 in the 10th inning, but we had fun!

This is the video that I took of Megan after she got the ball. I was testing out our camera's abbility to video, but I didn't realize that it didn't have any sound. Ooops! But it is funny to watch Megan wiggle around and get some live footage.

Videos

So, I just figured out how to put videos onto my blog, (thanks to Sarah!) so I thought that I would record some things and try to share them with you. The only bad thing is that our camera will only record 10 seconds at a time. So, good luck to me to get Bryson to ever do something in 10 seconds. I am going to try and figure out how to record a longer length. But I hope you enjoy the 10 second clips that I have posted.

A Whole New World

This is my sister, Tosha pretending to fly Bryson on a magic carpet ride. She didn't know that my brother was recording and not taking pictures. She about killed him as she chased him around the house trying to delete it off the camera. I think it was cute. Sorry Tosha!

All Giggles

I am testing out putting on videos. I was trying to have Megan tell me what she did at school and all she could do is laugh, and it made Bryson laugh too. Too cute!

What it is Like to be a Mom

Ok, so I was checking out my friend's blog page and she had this hilarious video from youtube, and I just wanted to share it with you guys. Because this is what it feels like to be a mom, and you will understand if you are a mom, and if not, then this is what your wife goes through! :-) If the link doesn't work then check out Tim & Sarah's blog and it is the momsense post.
Thanks Sarah!

Aloha!

Yesterday was a VERY busy day. After Megan's first day at school, and then her eye exam for school, we were off to a very fun party for our friend, Todd's 30th birthday! It was a BLAST and full of fun, but if you know the Smiths, they always go all out. We all dressed in Hawaiian outfits and Amy Smith provided Lia's for everyone and grass skirts for the little girls. She also had name tags for everyone with their Hawaiian name on it. Josh's was "Ioku" mine was "Aleki", Megan's was "Makena" and Bryson didn't get one. They had a delicious spread of food and then we played some awesome games. We played "Spear the pig" where we threw a stick with a knife taped to the top and tried to hit a watermelon dressed as a pig. They had the kids hit a pinata, had a water balloon fight and cracked open coconuts. It was an AWESOME party! Thanks Amy for a great night, and Todd for giving us a reason to party!

First Day of School

Megan had her first day of preschool yesterday and LOVED it. She was so excited to go back to school today. I hope that she will continue having fun and by hopefully by next week she will still want to go. She did so good getting on the bus and in the afternoon when they brought her home she had fallen asleep on the bus. We asked her what she liked about school and she said "rolling the potatoe" & "playing house", she also met a new friend named Jasmine. Megan also said that on her bus ride that she was singing all by herself because no one else would sing with her. She said that she was singing "The wheels on the bus". Hopefully today goes better and someone will sing with her. We are so proud of Megan for trying something new and doing so good at it. It is a VERY nice break for me and I am excited for her to come home in the afternoon.

Chilling With My Family

We really had a lot of fun with my family here. Here are a few pictures of the fun things that we did at our home.

Megan with the family

(check out our long grass)
Megan always wanted to dress the same as Grandma

My mom bought us a bird house so that we could feed the birds. My mom and Megan would sit outside every day and watch the birds, and squirrels eat the seeds.
Megan went over to our neighbors and did the slipping slide
