BUBBLES!!!

We have had a couple of warm days so we have been blowing bubbles. The kids had a lot of fun. I meant to post these awhile ago, but we had surprise visitors this weekend, Josh's brother Jacob, his wife Julia & their kids Loraya & Isaac. Which meant we had a fun eventful weekend.

Right before Jacob, Julia, Loraya & Isaac left we went out to blow bubbles.

Easter Traditions

Easter is just around the corner and I was wondering what your Easter traditions are religious and non-religious. I am always looking for something new to start with our family. The only thing I associate with Easter is playing BINGO with all my cousins, and gifts flying over my head. And since I am away from my family now, I am looking for some good traditions to start. So what are yours?

Green = Gross

So tonight for St. Patrick's Day I decided to dye our tomato soup green, and Megan who loves tomato soup, would not even try it. She was telling me that it was "nasty" before even trying it. So why is it kids don't like food that is green? Broccoli, green beans, peas, spinach, & lettuce. She never even ended up eating it, but I don't blame her since it does look like "Shrek's Special", I had to eat it right away to show her that it was good and so that I would eat it since it didn't look very appetizing. Happy St. Patrick's day!

Louisville Triple Crown- 10K

Today was the Second leg of the Triple Crown races, the 10K. The weather was cold and overcast with threatening rain showers, but luckily it didn't start to rain till later in the afternoon. My race started at 8:30AM and then we decided to sign Megan up to do a Kids fun run race, 50 yard dash, at 10:30am.



So while I raced Josh let Megan jump around on the bouncy slide while they waited for me to finish.

Josh was at the finish line with the kids and was able to get pictures of me running this time! I kept waving at Megan, but she never saw me run. Tonight at dinner she asked me "Are you going to run YOUR race." (ha ha!) At least I have pictures to prove that I ran this time! (Thanks sweetie!)On the way to the finish line, I ended up running the 10K in 54:33, I finished 97th in my age division of women out of 502. I feel like I did pretty well, even though I felt sick afterwards. Now I have to get ready for the 10 mile race that I am running with Josh in 2 weeks!

After I finished my race we got Megan ready for her race. She had been talking about this race for days and had been telling everyone that "On Saturday Mommy is going to race, and then I get to race and then I get to go to Dylan's birthday party." (one of her friends that she hadn't seen in a little while) So she got a bib # (they all got the #1), a t-shirt and
a 1st place ribbon (everyone got 1st place!)

What a fun morning, and now after Dylan's birthday party...

& grocery shopping (without Megan, I forgot how fun grocery shopping was without telling Megan to stop touching everything. ) we are now taking a nice relaxing night watching a movie!

I don't think we are in Kentucky anymore...

Yesterday it started snowing when we left the hospital after Bryson's surgery and it kept snowing until about noon today. Everything was closed down yesterday and today everything opened up after noon. We received 12 inches of snow, and even a little Thunder storm last night. The last big snow storm like this was 10 years ago, our snow storm ranked the 9th biggest snow storm to EVER hit Kentucky. So we took advantage of this snow storm...

While Josh went to shovel the driveway we bundled up the kids and let them play in the neighborhood. Bryson would just walk up and down the driveway where it was shoveled, he LOVED being out there, but when he got cold he would just go right up to the door and start knocking on it.
Megan loved playing in the snow, she walked around going to all the neighbor's houses, having snowball fights, sledding & having fun!
It took Josh 2 hours to shovel our porch and driveway, what a trooper!
After dinner we bundled the kids up again and they tried to make a snowman, made some snow angels & even a big hole to sit in. I on the other hand stayed behind the camera and out of the snow; partially because Josh had my boots on & because it was just a little too cold for me.

After playing outside we came in to warm up by the heater...

And drink hot chocolate. What a fun snow day!

Surgery Day!

Today Bryson went in for his bilateral myringotomy, or in simpler terms, tubes in both of his ears. We had to be there by 6:30am, his surgery was at 7:30 and we were out of there by 8:30.
He was not very cooperative in getting his blood pressure or heart rate, then they gave him a relaxant which calmed him down and helped him to be able to be taken into surgery. He even was playing with the heart beat monitor before they took him in.
Megan also was there, she was begging for attention since Bryson was getting so much attention, so Josh took this picture since she wanted her picture taken too.
After surgery Bryson was crying for about 2 hours and could not get comfortable going between me and Josh holding him. After we were home for about an hour he was better and back to himself, still druged though. I just hope that these tubes will help us not have a weekly relationship with the pediatrician.

Crazy Tricks

I find it very interesting what Megan comes home from school doing. Monday she comes home Roaring at Bryson & Kalel (the boy I babysit) of course they laugh at her and it keeps her going. Then Tuesday I pick her up off the bus and she has all of her fingers crossed and has continued crossing her fingers whenever she isn't using her hands. Crazy Girl!

Then there is my little boy, which sometimes I have to wonder why he does what he does... okay so maybe I think it is because he hangs out with 2 girls all day. But he loves to play with this toy, and not to stack them up like this...

But to wear them like this...

(Notice them on his hands and foot... he usually tries to put them ALL on, but gets frustrated when the red one doesn't fit.) And yes, he does have a purse around his neck like a necklace. I worry sometimes, but I enjoy the times that he plays with cars and his balls, it reassures me that he is a boy even though he likes to put on necklaces, bracelets and play with hair brushes. I just hope that the accessorizing stops before he starts to ask Santa for stuff.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

A few weeks back we were out in the neighborhood and one of the kids had a kite, Megan wanted to take their new kite home with her, we thankfully talked her out of taking it home telling her that she could go buy her own with her left over birthday money (which just sits in her bear bank). So we headed to the store (to buy groceries) and Megan bought this Dora kite and has been asking to fly it everyday. So once we got back from our trip there was a windy day and Josh took Megan out to fly her kite. She was so excited and all of the nieghbor kids loved it too.

Triple Crown 5K

On Saturday after we returned I had my first race of the Triple Crown races, running the 5K. I was pleased with my time of 26:16, especially since we flew in at midnight the night before, and the race started at 8:30 which felt like 6:30 to me since we were still on Utah time. But it was fun and I look forward to the next race in 2 weeks, I just hope that there isn't as many people. There was almost 8,000 people running the race, Josh never even saw me running since there was so many people. What a great husband though to wake up early with me and take the kids down to support me, and never see me. It really means a lot to have that support.

Utah Trip

We are back and settled after our fun & relaxing trip to Utah to visit my family. We went out to celebrate my Dad's 50th birthday and to be there when my sister, Jessica, sealed her son, James to her and her husband, Steve. The rest of the week we had fun hanging out and doing some fun things. Now for any of you who don't know my family or maybe have forgotten, but we all take A LOT of pictures, so for those of you who just want to see a couple pictures I have posted a few, but if you want to see more pictures, please click on the links to view more pictures of the events that we did!



We went to James Reed Moon's sealing in the Provo temple which was wonderful, the sealer was perfect since he too adopted 3 of his kids, what a beautiful ceremony.

We celebrated my Dad's 50th birthday with a delicious bacon wrapped fillet Mignon dinner & strawberry fruit pizza for dessert!

We also went over to Jess & Steve's to play their new Wii, they played bowling & boxing on the Wii sports. It was hilarious watching them play.

Josh was so excited to be able to go snowboarding with Steve for a day. Thanks to Kandis for getting them free passes to go & Jess for letting Josh use her snowboarding gear, they had a free day on the slopes with 7 inches of fresh powder. Josh loved it!

We also were able to take 4 generation pictures with my Grandma Stevenson. She hates to get her picture taken, and she was such a trooper for taking so many pictures, especially on her birthday! We had fun eating lunch with Grandma & Grandpa and then Megan & Kylie went out and played in their backyard on the merry-go-round.

We also attempted to take a family portrait since we were all there except for my little brother who is serving his mission. This was the best family shot, but you have to check out some of the other pictures, there are some cute ones of the kids and of Josh & I!

We were excited to find out that there would be a gymnastics meet while we were there and so we jumped on the opportunity to go. We took Megan to gymnastics meets when she was little to watch her aunt Kandis perform. Unfortunately Kandis isn't performing anymore, but is now working at the meets. Megan wasn't interested in watching the girls compete this time she was more interested in watching where Cosmo was at. Bryson on the other hand was watching very intently, and was a little nervous when Cosmo came over. After the meet we put the kids to bed and spent a fun night with Nic & Kandis.

While we were in Utah I wanted to take the kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was a lot of fun, the kids loved it, and once we let Bryson out of his stroller he was everywhere. This picture was at the very end & Bryson didn't want to be held and started pulling my hair and this picture was captured, great picture, but it hurt!

My Mom wanted to take the kids to the pet store to let them each choose a fish, so we made an outing of this event the night before we went home. Megan of course wanted to get a $7.00 fish, but we ended up talking her down to a $2.79 fish, since it will probably die before we go back out there. But it was a lot of fun see how excited she was to pick out her fish.

Thanks to my family for everything, watching our kids so that we could go on a date, putting them to bed, and feeding us. It was a great week! Can't wait to see you guys again... HERE!
