One Busy Weekend

Last weekend was a super busy weekend which helped me out since Josh had left town.  The morning started with driving by some neighborhood yard sales to try and find some baby stuff, but we had no luck.  Then we were off to Bryson's t-ball game.  This is Bryson's first time playing t-ball and he has really caught on quick.  He loves to play with his Dad in the backyard and since we don't have a tee he just pitches it and Bryson can hit them pretty good.  Here are a few shots of him hitting.

Bryson has also done pretty well with outfield.  The coaches usually play in on 1st base since he is one of the better catchers on the team, even though he has a long way to go, but what can you say they are 4 & 5 year olds.  He really has a good arm too, but will usually toss it to his teammates.

After Bryson's t-ball game we grabbed some lunch, dropped the boys off at a friends house and Megan & I went to her dance recital.  It was nice to be able to enjoy it without having to worry about the boys bothering people around me, and even though I was all by myself I still got the whole row to myself.  Which would have turned into a "doggie run" if the boys were there.

After the recital we ran home for Megan to change & drop of her outfits and then we were off again, back to our friends home where the boys were to have a pizza party with 3 of the other wives and our 14 kids while our husbands left us to do service dental work.  It was fun to hang out, let the kids get wet, & play in the sand (the best combination) while we relaxed as much as we could.

Here's a shot of all but 4 of the kids.

And as I mentioned before Josh had left to RAM (remote area medical) to a service clinic.  They pay for their hotel and they feed them and they get to go and help out people who don't get to the dentist or have the money to.  It's a free clinic and people line up and camp out to go.  Josh said that this year wasn't as busy as years before (what he was told), but he still enjoyed getting the chair side experience.  You can see how crazy crowded it was in there.  But Josh really had fun and he had 5 other friends to share it with.

I am caught up for now.  This was a quiet week since Josh had a test and has a final coming up.  I keep meaning to take a profile shot of my ever growing body, but getting pictures of myself isn't what I really want.  But I guess I will get one just to document how much I hate getting bigger when I'm pregnant and to give me motivation to lose it all after.  Or maybe to not even get pregnant again... depending on what the big guy upstairs says.  :-)

Megan's Dance Recital

Megan had her first dance recital.  She was so excited since she would be able to wear makeup.  Unfortunately she broke out with poison ivy on her face that we could only do mascara & lipstick, but I was fine with that even though she was a little upset that she couldn't have more.  This years recital was titled opposites.  For her ballet performance it was titled sit/stand.  Megan did very well on both of her performances.  We were only able to record and take pictures during the dress rehearsal, but I think that they did just as good as they did in the performance.

For Megan's Jazz performance it was called country/city.  She LOVED this one.  You can tell.

It was a lot of fun watching her dance and hope that she will continue to improve as she grows up. Oh, funny story that I don't want to forget.  During dress rehearsal one of the Mom's came up to us (that lives in our neighborhood) and told us that her son thinks that Megan is really cute.  He is a grade older than her.  He had gone over and was trying to talk to her while she waited her turn to go on stage.  After she danced he came over and asked if he could get a picture with her.  She did her full cowgirl pose in the picture.  Super cute.  I don't think that she even had a clue, or maybe she didn't care, that he thought that she was cute and was wanting to talk to her.

May OVERLOAD

Time has really gotten away from me and I find myself wanting to lay down, put my feet up and read then sit at the computer to update our family happenings.  So here is the mother load of what happened in the month of May!

We started finishing our basement
The 2 pictures on the top are the before and the bottom 3 are after the framing was done.  We now have the plumbing done and the electrical will hopefully start next week.  We are hoping to have it all done by the end of the summer giving our wonderful guests that come help me out with the baby somewhere nice to sleep with their own bathroom!!

Oaks & Derby
Josh was given the opportunity to work during the Oaks & Kentucky Derby.  We thought that it would be a great opportunity to experience and the extra cash would help with doing the basement.  He got trained on all the different ways of betting and how to use the machine.  He had to bring his own stool if he wanted to sit down, and wasn't able to watch any of the races since people are constantly coming up to make bets.  If there was a break he was trying to eat.  His view is the top right picture from his seat and the bottom right was looking down at where he worked.  He had a lot of fun, and made over $100 in tips, He said that he would do it again next year.

Girls Weekend
I left shortly after the Derby to go out to Utah to spend some time with my Mom & sisters.  We spent most of our time together shopping, wearing my Mom out, eating & having fun.
I was SO EXCITED when my Mom told me that my family was going to be doing their annual bingo party while I was there.  I REALLY miss going to them and hope that one day I can take my kids to one so they can see the "real" way to play bingo!  It was great to see my aunts and uncle, Grandpa & a lot of my cousins.
I also was able to squeeze in a short visit with my sister-in-law and family, it was so good to see my nephews and how big they have grown.  I really enjoyed my trip this year, wish that it could have been a little longer, but I did miss my family as well.  I was able to fly home on Mothers Day.

End of School Fun
Connor and I were able to go to Bryson's preschool for their end of school festival of fun.  It was a lot of fun.  And I had to get a picture of Bryson with his best bud Paublo.  They were the best of friends and I am so sad that they won't be going to the same Elementary school next year.

While I was in Utah Bryson had his Preschool Graduation.  I was sad to miss it, but Josh did a great job and took pictures for me and sent them to me so I didn't feel too let out.  We loved his teacher, Mrs Jan & her helpers, Mrs Teresa & Mrs Beatty.

Megan also had an award assembly where she was recognized for excellence in reading & music.  The boy that Megan has had a crush on for a few years now is on the bottom left picture starting to get cut off.  But they have been in the same class for 3 years now and she still thinks he's handsome.

End of Season
Bryson finished up soccer with Josh as his coach.  They had a lot of fun together!

Summer Reading Program
At the library they do a summer reading program and they kick it off with a BIG party and it is at our library and the whole county comes.  It was fun, but VERY CROWDED!!  We got there right when it started and it was already a little hectic.  They had characters dressed up which Connor didn't want anything to do with.  They had snow cones & a petting zoo.  The kids had a blast and it's fun to take them to the library.  All summer long they have fun activities for the kids to do and if they finish the reading program then they get to go to a swim party at a local pool & receive a lot of fun coupons.

PHEW!!!  We made it through May, but June is already in full swing.  Hopefully I can keep up.

Horse Show

I won a family 4 pack of tickets to go see this show called Apassionata.  Connor went to play at a friends house and Josh and I took Megan & Bryson to the show.  Here are a few highlights.

Our seats

 Some shots from the show.

And here are some videos.

This first one the kids thought was hilarious, I didn't record from the beginning, but I think you get the idea of the clip.  This one is a bit longer too.

This was the favorite from the whole show.
Our camera isn't the best for capturing this, but you can still enjoy it.

The kids really enjoyed the show.  Well at least I know Megan really enjoyed it.  Bryson kept asking when it was going to be over, but then when we were walking back to our car he said that it was the best show ever.  It was a great experience for all of us.

Grandparents

Josh's parents came in for a short visit and here are some pictures from what we did.  Other things not pictured that we did was added flowers to the landscaping and it looks so pretty now, and spent some time at the flew market.  Josh was able to not go to school for one day, so we took Megan out of school too and we spent the day at the zoo.  Bryson also had a soccer game while they were here and we had fun cheering him on as he played.

Connor loved spending all his time with Grandpa (I guess I'm not exciting enough for him) he always had to know where he was and wanted to be with him.  Us adults were able to get out one evening to go out to eat at Lynn's Paradise Cafe without the kids.  It was a great time.

We always love when the Grandparents come to visit and always look forward to when we are able to see them again.

Way Behind Post

I am way behind on posting so I am combining the posts.

Easter
This year we only made it out to one Easter Egg hunt, but it was fun.  The weather was beautiful and perfect for hunting eggs.  Bryson this year found a prize egg that got him a big prize.  We didn't get a picture of it but he got a stuffed bunny & a bubble wand.

The kids on Easter morning with all their Easter treats.

The kids in their Easter clothes.
Megan was the only one with new clothes, but the boys wanted their picture taken too.

Family Date Night
One of our goals for the year was to do a family date night every month.  Here are pictures from March and April's activities.

March's activity we had a picnic at a new park and then hiked around on the trails.

For April's activity we were given a Groupon to go miniture golfing so we took the kids and have fun.  Connor loved playing and hitting the ball into the hole.  He would smile so big when he pulled the ball out of the hole.  Megan and Bryson did very well too.  We didn't keep score, but we all had fun.

Special Cupcakes

Tonight after dinner we had some special cupcakes with a fun surprise in the middle.

We had to get a video of the kids eating these cupcakes.  They are called Fun-da-middles... with a little twist.

Cheer!

Megan loved participating with the other Activity Day girls to cheer for the Young Women while they played basketball.  It was so cute watching them cheer on the side lines during their game.  They even painted their faces and spray painted their hair.

Connor wanted a picture of him too, so I thought that I would include it to show you his new hair style.

Here is the video of the girls doing their half time routine.  So cute!!

It's Official

I have been a total slacker.  I haven't taken a single picture in over a month.  I have been so consumed with my last project and once I finished I have taken up reading the Hunger Games to be able to relax.  I've been finding myself more and more tired, but I did manage to find a couple of pictures to share with everyone.  (If anyone even looks at this blog anymore... cause I know that I haven't given much to look at.)

Josh & Alexis Kelly 2011 | Make Your Own Book

This is why no pictures have been taken, my house has been dirtier then normal and my kids have played more Wii then they should.

Enjoy!
