End of the Road

We were Jacob and Julia's last stop before heading home on their month long road trip. So this is what we did with them.

We went to the water park to try and keep cool. We had a big thunderstorm that morning, but when we got there that afternoon, after the storm, the place was pretty empty. It was great to relax around the pool and watch the kids have so much fun.

The next day we went down to the zoo.

This was our first time seeing the seal and sea lion show. It wasn't really a show they were teaching them different tricks and how to react on command. They had a pre-show that Megan got picked to go down a participate with. It was pretty cheesy, but the kids liked it.

Interactions with the animals:

What does $1 get you at the zoo? An up close interaction with a giraffe. The giraffe this day was not wanting to eat, I'm glad that we were towards the front of the line. Both Megan and Bryson got a long time standing there holding their food since the giraffe didn't seem too interested.

Another favorite is always the petting zoo with the goats and donkey. Connor wasn't too sure about touching the animals, but finally did it.

The lorikeets were very active this day. We didn't pay for any nectar, but still got to have them land on us. It was the first time I had one land on me. The birds seemed to like our heads and pick at our hair. None of the kids wanted to hold the birds until we told them it was time to go then they all wanted to hold them.

We enjoyed having Jacob, Julia, Loraya, Isaac and Macey here for a few days. The kids played pretty well together. It was fun watching Connor and Macey play together.
