Out of Training

About a month ago Megan came to us and told us that she wanted her training wheels off her bike. Josh removed them and started to teach her how to ride her bike. At the same time her friend Emma decided to learn to ride without her training wheels too. So they were both out there learning how to ride. Megan couldn't do it since her bike is a little big for her so Emma let her borrow her bike and after a lot of whining, some crying, some begging and a little bit of yelling she finally got it!
So then after riding Emma's bike for a little while we decided to try her on her own bike... and she did it!!
We are so proud of Megan for sticking to trying to ride her bike and not giving up. While watching the video you need to listen to what she says while she is riding, it is so cute. Now we have 2 little girls riding their bikes around the neighborhood. We will see what she will conquer next. We love you Megan!

4th of July

Our 4th of July this year was fun, we had some great activities to attend. The Branch Flag Raising Ceremony & breakfast... which we missed the flag raising since the kids slept late and we didn't set an alarm, so we just got breakfast, and then in the evening we had a BBQ at our friends house that just moved into our neighborhood (Yeah!) It rained on us pretty good, making it quite the adventure to BBQ outside. It stopped later so we decided to go and light some fireworks out front, and of course it started to rain on us again, but only for a little while so we were able to get some fireworks off. Megan really didn't like the sound of the fireworks, and would always stand further back then everyone else while plugging her ears. At a time we couldn't find her but found her up at the house peeking out the window watching.
Bryson on the other hand loved watching the fireworks, he kept making this cute face (above picture: bottom left) He just couldn't get enough.
After lighting our own fireworks we headed over to the county firework show and arrived just in time for them to start with a great view. We had a great 4th of July, but I always seem to miss home this time of year.

July 1st my little sister, Tosha, celebrated her 16th birthday, then on the 4th we usually wake up early to watch the balloon race, go to the parade, go back home to my parent's house and have a BBQ with my cousins on my Dad's side of the family, and then enjoy the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire. Then July 5th we celebrate my older sister, Jessica's, birthday. It is always a fun filled week, I am sad that I missed it this year. Happy Birthday to my 2 wonderful sisters, I wish that I could be there to celebrate!

A new Addition

It has almost been a year since we have moved into our home and we have made our first addition to it...
Josh has been wanting to put this extra patio on for awhile, since our grass there really wasn't growing, and we were having drainage problems, so it was just yucky under the stairs.
Now we have a walk way and extra storage under the stairs. And I get to buy a little plastic pool to put on it since Josh didn't want me killing the grass, so now we have our patio to put it on.
Megan was also really cute or annoying, I don't know which one, with the workers. She would sit out an talk to them as they worked, and she even gave all of them (except one, he didn't want it) a sticker in her little school work book. I kept yelling at her to stop bugging the guys as they worked, but one of them kept talking to her and said that he had a 3 year old. We love our new addition, we think that they did a great job, and thanks to the government stimulus check for paying for it!

Dooms Day

Today was "Dooms Day" for us. It was the first day of dental school and Josh headed down to check it out and to see if everyone that had accepted a spot into the dental school would show up... and they all did. SO... now he will put "Plan E" in effect and apply for the Masters in Biology and put his application in to reapply for dental school for the 2009 year. Josh put up a very good fight and the school never really had a good answer to why he didn't get accepted besides diversity. Diversity, shmiversity. Josh is going to make an EXCELLENT dentist some day, they are just delaying him from his dream. It is just REALLY hard when your dream is put into someone else's hands and there is nothing you can do about it. Beg, kiss butt & annoy them with phone calls were some of the tactics Josh tried, but those didn't work. So now he will put his application in again and wait till December 1st to see if he gets accepted. Wish Josh luck!

Silly Voice

Bryson just started to make this voice and it just cracks us up. It is hilarious. We have already watched this video over and over, Bryson even laughs at himself when he watches it.

For Sale

This is how I felt at the end of the day, or maybe more towards the middle of the day.

* 4 3/4 years old
* Hates cleaning her messes
* Yells a lot
* Can't stay out of the corner

* 18 months old
* Throws his food
* Has tantrums
* Hits whenever mad

Two kids for sale!
Two kids for sale!
Two badly behaved young kids for sale!
I'm really not kidding,
So who'll start the bidding?
Do I hear a dollar?
A nickel?
A penny?
Oh, isn't there, isn't there, isn't there any
One Dad who will buy these kids for sale,
These messy and fussy kids for sale?

A day off at the Park

Yesterday I got a day off from babysitting, so we went to the park to eat lunch and hang out with some friends.
I love this park because it is so pretty, shaded sitting area near the playground, bathrooms close, 2 different sizes of playgrounds, one for the big kids and one for the little, and they have a pond that the ducks and geese swim on. We come here every Wednesday to eat lunch with people from our Branch, but since we missed it we went on our own with a friend. Megan and Bryson loved checking out the ducks, I'll have to remember bread for next time, since once we got there they all came out of the water expecting some food. And since we didn't have any they all got back into the water, but Megan had fun chasing a duck around as she acted like a duck herself and Bryson joined in.
And with all the fun things to do at the park, Megan & Bryson loved playing with Cassidy instead. I thought that it was really cute. Megan would take her pacifier out and then Bryson would go get it and put it back into her mouth. It was a nice time out of the house. Thanks Tiffany for joining me at the last minute!

Sunset

I rarely get a quiet moment to myself at night to be able to appreciate the beautiful sunset, so yesterday when I got the chance to run a couple of errands by myself and was able to notice the beautiful sunset, and had to take a picture. I love watching the sun go down to the horizon, since I grew up in Utah, you watch it go behind the mountain, but it is so much prettier out here.

Boating on the Ohio River

We were invited to go boating on the Ohio river with some good friends, and we had a BLAST! Bryson was not a big fan of being on the boat, he hated the life jacket, and cried when Daddy got out of the boat and when he fell in the water. Megan LOVED being on the boat and did not want to get off. I think that she got the most boat time. But took the duty of flag holder very well.

Check out the hot guy on the board with the nice tan line!
I am one to just sit in the boat since I am afraid of drowning, but I did venture out of the boat and go tubing, once, with my friend Laura.
Megan even showed me up and went out on the tube, she loved it and wanted to go back out. Notice her giving the thumbs up to speed up the boat. Hopefully she will be more like her Daddy!
We had a really fun time, thanks to the Gremmerts for inviting us, and for all the other great company, and great food too. Can't wait till next time!

Zoo with Daddy

Friday we went to the zoo with Josh, his second time. Unforunately they were both night adventures so the elephants and the orangatane were not out. But we still had fun checking out all the other animals.
We also let Bryson walk around this time instead of being in the stroller and he loved it, of course. And it had rained earlier and his favorite thing was to run through the puddles and splash. Every puddle he saw he had to step in, so we tried to block puddles from him.
We had a fun time at the zoo with Daddy, and it was the perfect day to be outside.
